Spring is in the air here in the Southwest and that means that it is time to get excited about the upcoming Country Thunder in Florence. We have all the details below for you as far as the lineup and schedule for what should be a down and dirty good time! We also wanted to put the spotlight on the town of Florence this year and how you could show your support to the small businesses in their historic district and throughout all of Florence. We know that if you attend Country Thunder weekend that it might be hard to leave the festival grounds and get into town to support some of the businesses here so that's why we've come up with some ideas of how you can show some love to Florence before and after Country Thunder happens.
Attend the "Road to Country Thunder" in downtown Florence
Wet your whistle the weekend before Country Thunder with a day of country music and fun in downtown Florence. A great primer before the main event the following week. Get to know the local musicians that you'll want to come back and see at some of the local watering holes. Saturday April 8th from 5-10pm on Main Street.
Shop Florence Businesses Online
Even if you can't make it to some of the shops in Florence you can always shop online leading up to the festival. Grab some western accessories for your festival wardrobe lineup and tell your friends where you bought it! Hit up Florence for a Day Trip
Plan a western day in downtown Florence where you can browse the shops in person and grab a bite to eat at one of the many local eateries. Florence oozes with western history and there are museums and self-guided historic walking tours that will take you back in wild west time. The Sonoran desert is beautiful around Florence so make time to play out in nature. If adventure is your thing there are great areas to go hiking and off-roading or maybe you just want get out in the desert for a cactus photoshoot!
Stay the Night
There is always tons of live music happening around town so plan on a weekend getaway to see live music at Windmill Winery or the River Bottom Bar & Grill. You will also find live sax music every Friday night at Valentinos. If you're lucky you might even catch the upcoming annual Rail Three Ranch Rodeo on March 18th and 19th for some real western fun!
